Jean-Sébastien Blais

Communication Committee

CISSS de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Dear union reps,

My name is Jean-Sébastien Blais. I am a nurse clinician assistant and have been president of the FIQ-SISSAT since 2021.

After a number of years working as a union rep, I had the opportunity to be on the communication committee and the strategic coordination committee on the Dubé reform. I have learned a lot from the Federation and I believe I have also helped it to broaden its horizons and take into consideration both regional and metropolitan realities.

After a term on the communication committee that was briefly cut off by negotiations, I feel there is still a lot to do in communications.

We should prioritize politicizing our members and making sure that they are all interested in our union battles. While communications are now being sent for the most part via social media networks, it is important to remember that tools can be created to regain direct contact with our members.

You can count on me to continue helping the FIQ provide you with the tools needed to ensure your members’ rights are respected and that our good actions shine!
